Wow I discovered while trying to find replacement furniture (wide forends and wood) everything seems to have dried up. Anyone got an sources for a green or black wide...Nobody knows. Your best option is to keep the PTR-91, since the SOCOM-16 is an improper type. Your best-best option is replace both with an MKE G3 when they hit, source an M14 parts kit on a Fulton, or even an Armscorp recevier, and source a good condition Imbel-on-Imbel FAL build.

Hi all, was wondering if anyone has successfully installed both the wood handguard and buttstock from a CETME Model C onto a PTR-91.I own a PTR-91 and it's a nice rifle for a decent price. AR-10s seem like an obvious option for a more modern rifle for similar price. I didn't buy my PTR as a practical fighting rifle, but mostly as a range toy. It's a capable firearm, but there are better, more modern options. There are things I like enjoy about it:PTR IS the premiere name in 308 roller locked guns. I have a "few" ranging from early to later builds and all are top notch great shooters. If you find one with the wood front hand guard buy it! There as rare as hens teeth. Roller locked guns are addictive and expensive so be prepared
